Lost: record box, ICE from Hamburg
A record box was left on a train after Nachtfähre in Hamburg. Here is the inventory filed with lost property.
On Sunday 12 November, coming back from Nachtfähre at Uebel & Gefährlich, I changed trains at Cologne and left my record box on the luggage rack of the ICE. I noticed on the platform as the doors closed. Here is the list I made for the lost property form, which had a very small space for "description of contents". I am publishing it in case someone has seen the box.
One grey aluminium 12 inch case, dented on one corner, with a sticker from a Dutch mastering studio that no longer exists.
Inside it, roughly front to back:
Test pressing, Tobias Wendt, "Deutz", annotated in pencil. The record came out on Friday, so this can be replaced.
Test pressing, Round 4, all four sides. Not out until 8 December.
Mr. Fingers, "Can You Feel It". Bought in 2003, scratched in the run-in, plays through it. I have played this to a lot of young producers to show them what can be left out of a track.
Basic Channel, "Phylyps Trak". A slightly grubby original.
Kerri Chandler, "Atmosphere", with the sticker half off.
St Germain, "Rose Rouge", with a coffee ring on the sleeve.
Laurent Garnier, "The Man with the Red Face", which I carry for the saxophone.
Frieda Lux, an unreleased white label with the matrix number handwritten twice, once with a correction.
About nineteen other records, which I am still trying to list from memory.
One cleaning brush, one grey slip mat with a hole in it and a packet of ear plugs.
If you find it, the address is on the contact page.
Update, Wednesday 29 November: the box was handed in at Basel, where the train terminates. It is coming back by post, with everything still in it.
