Nachtfähre are Jule Harms and Ben Okafor. The name means night ferry and comes from the HADAG boats they took home across the Elbe after bar shifts in St. Pauli. They began making tracks together in 2016 in a storage unit near the docks, and have never used a laptop on stage.
Ben, whose parents came to Hamburg from Enugu in the 1980s, handles drums and bass, and Jule plays keys and synthesisers. Their live set runs 90 minutes without a pause.
Their first GLB record, "Landungsbrücken", came out in 2020, followed by "Köhlbrand" (2022), the album "Elbtunnel" (2023) and "Finkenwerder" (2026). A second album, "Teufelsbrück", is due in 2027. They play Uebel & Gefährlich in Hamburg most years, and have appeared at Golden Pudel, Motion in Bristol and Amsterdam Dance Event.
