- Club, concert room and cocktail bar near Bastille
Badaboum opened on 31 October 2013 in what had been La Scène Bastille, a few minutes from Bastille in the 11th. Aurélien Delaeter, Aurélien Antonini and Benoît Chaldoreille founded it, and it now belongs to the Bonjour/Bonsoir group. The building covers about 600 square metres over two floors. Downstairs there is a concert hall, club and cocktail bar. Upstairs you get a retro-futurist mini-club and a small hidden room called the Bureau. It does not publish a capacity, and we will not invent one. The lighting is by AC3 Studios, and the owners describe the sound as high-end without naming names. Club nights run Thursday to Saturday, typically from 23:30 until 07:00, with Thursdays given over to a pop night and the weekend to DJs and residents. For house, it works as a neighbourhood club in the good sense, small enough that a local promoter can fill it and central enough that you can walk home. It is not a monument, and it does not behave like one.
