The people behind this club have been dancing on this bit of the Spree for a long time. Bar 25 opened on the site in 2003. When it closed, the same crew ran Kater Holzig in an old soap factory on the opposite bank, then came back in August 2014 and opened Kater Blau where Bar 25 had stood. In August 2025 it dropped the Blau, took a new visual identity and marked its eleventh birthday with a 76-hour party. It is the same club at the same address. There are two floors: Hopper, the main room, and Acid Bogen, a smaller one for live and stranger things. The club describes its sound as colourful and melodic, which is fair. It sits on the north bank in Friedrichshain, part of the Holzmarkt site, and no capacity figure has been published that we would trust. For house music it matters as the living end of a line that taught a generation that a party could last until Tuesday.
