Gewölbe means vault, and that is what you get: a small basement club in the railway arches beside Köln West station, with trains overhead and Friesenplatz a few minutes away on foot. Listings date it to 2005, with a reopening in May 2011 after a full renovation. No capacity has been published, and the sound system has not been written up anywhere we could find, so we will not pretend otherwise. It is usually tagged as a techno club, but it books house DJs alongside techno ones, and it is the more useful of Cologne's rooms if you want to hear something quieter than Bootshaus. Friday and Saturday nights start at 23:00 and run until morning, with autumn 2026 nights on the listings. Entry is 18 and over and photography is not allowed inside. It is an unglamorous, functional room under a railway, which in our experience is often a good sign.
