GLB Records was founded in Clapton, east London, by Mark Neilson after twenty years in record distribution. The first release, Anselm Reuter's Köpenicker Dub (GLB001), came out on 11 October as a 12 inch in an edition of 300, hand-stamped, and sold out within three weeks.
Neilson had first heard Reuter's music on a CD-R in Berlin in the summer of 2018. The sleeve, by Berlin designer Jonas Weber, established the die-cut format and stone-yellow centre label that the label still uses.
The first Long Count took place at Phonox in Brixton on 7 December, with Reuter playing the whole night. It set the rule that has applied to every Long Count since: no set under three hours.
