Gilles Peterson's festival has run in the Languedoc port of Sète since 2006, and it marked its twentieth edition in 2026, from 28 June to 5 July. Peterson put out a book for the anniversary. The main evenings take place at the Théâtre de la Mer, an open-air amphitheatre set on the seafront, and the daytime sessions happen at La Ola Beach Club on the Lido. It is deliberately not big. The music is the Worldwide radio world in person: jazz, soul, broken beat, Brazilian records, deep house, a good deal of it played by people with strong opinions about pressings. The local authority runs extra buses for it, which suggests it has become part of the town's summer rather than an imposition on it. No attendance figure has been published that we would put our name to. Tourism listings give late June to early July for 2027, and the festival's site has an Edition 2027 section with no dates on it yet. We have left the dates blank until it does.
