First held in July 2015, Parookaville is staged at Weeze Airport near the Dutch border, and run by Next Events GmbH. The concept is that the festival is a town, built on the airport grounds, with its own back story, its own attractions and tickets called Visas. Wikipedia's figures rise from 50,000 in 2015 to 170,000 in 2019 and 225,000 across three days in 2023, with an 85,000 capacity across all stages at once. Sales for 2027 opened on 21 July 2026 and a good many categories sold out quickly, regular Saturday tickets and Deluxe Village among them. A Young Visa for ages 18 to 25 was new for 2027. Steve Aoki, Lost Frequencies and Don Diablo are listed by one source as early names. This is about as far from a small room at five in the morning as dance music gets. It earns a place here for scale, and because it shows what German audiences will pay for when somebody builds them an entire town to do it in.
