Andy George, Jay Jameson, Ben Atkins and Andy Ellis founded Lost Village in 2015, in a forest near the Lincolnshire village of Norton Disney. It has a loose story attached, about an abandoned settlement in the woods, and the set dressing leans into it with cabins and stages tucked among the trees. It held around 5,000 in its second year and about 10,000 by 2017, when it won a UK Festival Award. Maribou State played the first edition, and DJ Koze and Floating Points came soon after, so the booking has been on the right side of things from early on. Alongside the music there are comedians, and the audience is a bit older than at the August bank holiday's bigger events. DJ Mag called the music policy carefree, and that's about right. It suits house music that takes its time. The 2026 edition sold out. Its site lists 26 to 29 August 2027 for the next one, the same weekend as Creamfields, and with a very different crowd.
