Liverpool's Cream started as a club night at Nation in Wolstenholme Square in October 1992. Its festival followed on 2 May 1998 as a one-day event near Winchester, drawing about 25,000. It moved north to the former Liverpool airport site and in 2006 settled on the Daresbury Estate in Cheshire, where it has become a four-day camping event on the August bank holiday. Wikipedia lists a daily capacity of 70,000 and a total around 280,000, following a 2017 site expansion. Live Nation has run it since buying Cream in 2012. A southern offshoot ran at Hylands Park in 2022 and 2023 and was dropped. The steel yard stage and the big arenas draw the main crowd, with trance, drum and bass and house all getting their tents. Josh Baker, Kettama and Prospa have been named to headline the Arc stage in 2027, a sign of where young British house audiences are. The festival's site gives 26 to 29 August 2027. It is among the biggest dance events in Britain, and people from Liverpool will mention that.
