Ilse Morgen

Ilse Morgen grew up in Offenbach am Main and studied design there, spending her student years in the clubs along the river towards Frankfurt. Morgen is a stage name. She still works three days a week as a type designer.

"Mainufer" (2022) began as a demo that Lena Vogt passed to A&R. "Offenbach Hauptbahnhof" (2024) and "Schlachthof" (2025) followed, and "Frühschicht" is due in January 2027. She has drawn the lettering for two of her own sleeves.

Her sets tend towards the early-morning slot, with long pads and breakbeats. She has played Robert Johnson, Kater, Gewölbe and Blitz, and opened the label's first showcase at Amsterdam Dance Event in 2022.
